Elaine Duncan, (nee Buckle), was born in Accra, Ghana on July 25, 1932, the 2nd daughter and 4th child of Vernon Lushington Buckle and Kate Buckle, (nee Opintan).

September 12, 1959
On 12 September 1959, she married her Sweetheart, Josbert Thomas Kofi Duncan in Amersham, England.
September 2, 1960
Her 1st daughter Alero was born. Alero married Seyi Roberts in April 1985 and has 2 sons, Damola and Demilade, and 2 daughters, Princess and Dedun
February 1, 1962
Her 2nd daughter Erejuwa was born.  Erejuwa married Kola Gbadebo in August 1988 and has 3 daughters, Tumi, Deji and Yemi.
September 26, 1966
Her 3rd daughter Timehin was born.  Timehin married Sola Osindero in July 1991 and has 2 sons, Rotimi and Shimmy (Seun).
September 21, 1969
Her 4th daughter Tosan was born.  Tosan married Ekow Woode in April 1995 and has 2 sons, Kobby and Toby.
July 25, 2002
Celebrated her 70th birthday amidst much joy and celebration.

Was diagnosed with Motor Neuron Disease, a devastating illness that rendered her completely paralysed unable to speak or move.  Despite this, she remained cheerful and lovely, a true blessing to her family and the hub around which we all revolved.
March 5, 2006

After suffering with much grace, our beloved Elaine slipped quietly away and went home to be with her Lord on the 5th of March, 2006 at 4.30pm.

 

Dearest Mummy, you were an inspiration in this life and we all, Daddy, all 4 of us your daughters, all your 4 sons, and all your 11 grandchildren, miss you so much.

 

Sleep peacefully in the arms of the Lord you placed your trust in until we meet again in heaven.
